An estimated 324,300 Pennsylvanians served during World War I.  Of the approximately 5517 men who fell, 115 were from Lebanon County.

Pennsylvania's 28th Division won special distinction for its participation in the war.

World War I U.S. Military casualty figures vary drastically from source to source with numbers ranging from 116,700 to 234,000.  Of course, casualties of war are described in many ways.
 

Lest We Forget The Thousands Of U.S. Civilians, Prisoners Of War, Missing, And Other War Casualties Not Included In The Figures.

Approximately 1.25 million Pennsylvanians served during World War II.  Of the 26,554 who fell, 278 were from Lebanon County.

Pennsylvania is second only to New York in World War II casualties, which had 31,215.  Third was Illinois with 18,601, followed by California with 17,022, Ohio with 16,828, Texas with 15,764, Michigan with 12,885, New Jersey with 10,372 and Massachusetts with 10,033.  All other states had less than 10,000 each with Alaska being the lowest with 91.
